La tormenta Dorian dejó tristeza y destrucción en su paso por Bahamas. A pesar del cielo despejado, todavía se siente el miedo entre las familias que caminan entre los escombros en busca de cualquier utensilio que le sirva para sobrevivir.
Las autoridades también están en las calles para constatar cómo quedó la isla. Funcionarios vestidos blanco se observan en las esquinas transportando cadáveres que yacen en el asfalto.
Un vehículo serpentea los escombros, mientras un grupo de hombres encargados de la difícil recolección de los muertos van sentados en la plataforma, sus piernas colgando hacia afuera. Conservan los guantes médicos de látex color azul y máscaras de protección sobre sus rostros, reseñó AFP.
Vastas zonas de Gran Ábaco en Bahamas están inundadas, lo que dificulta la llegada de ayuda. Cientos de embarcaciones están fuera de servicio, recostados sobre la tierra o volteados completamente, incluidos grandes barcos de pesca que fueron barridos por los vientos.
La fuerza de Dorian dobló los pilares metálicos de una estación de servicio como si fueran alambres y arrastró el techo decenas de metros. Los surtidores de nafta, arrancados de cuajo, están desperdigados en los alrededores.
